The accomplished gymnast Cathy Rigby will always be identified with that pesky boy who would never grow up, Peter Pan. Rigby first appeared on Broadway in the part in 1974 and continued to portray Peter Pan in touring productions and in a memorable television production as recently as 2006. Born in Los Alamitos, California, Rigby became a fan favorite after her performance in the 1968 Olympic Games and subsequently won the 1970 and 1972 National Gymnastics Championships and a silver medal for the balance beam competition in the 1970 World Championships as the first American woman to medal at that level.
