Biography

The first Dan O’Brien appearance on the field was in high school, when he won four state track titles during his senior year and made all-state in both football and basketball. He competed in track and field for the University of Idaho.

At the 1996 Summer Olympics, O’Brien won the gold medal in the decathlon. He also won gold medals at the 1991, 1993, and 1995 World Championships in Athletics. In 1992, he set a world record of 8,891 points. O’Brien was also Goodwill Games Champion in 1994 and 1998. He was inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 2005 and into the University of Idaho Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.

Dan O’Brien Speaker

As a child, Dan O’Brien grew up in a multi-ethnic household. His experience in foster care taught him discipline. However, he also had difficulty expressing himself. O’Brien’s adolescence was filled with peer pressure and he even had a bout with depression. He was rescued by his former coach who helped him enroll in a local junior college, work full time and train. O’Brien went on to set world records by overcoming obstacles, mostly injuries. He is also a volunteer track coach at ASU, and does commentary for track and field events on television. Thanks to all this Dan O’Brien speaker experience and exposure to different cultures as a child mean the decathlete will know how to address your audience at your next corporate function.

Dan O’Brien Appearance

At the present, O’Brien devotes his time to the Dan O’Brien Youth Foundation to teach kids the value of hard work, discipline, and determination. The foundation’s programs provide strategies to turn failure into success. He also owns Gold Medal Acceleration, a gym in Scottsdale, Arizona. This decathlete is both a role model and a community activist, and you can have him tell his story at your next corporate function with the help of a Dan O’Brien appearance arranged by TSE Speakers.

Dan O’Brien Endorsement

Among the many Dan O’Brien endorsement appearances is a sport alongside US rival Dave Johnson in a popular TV ad for Reebok. The series of commercials was entitled “Dan and Dave.” O’Brien also appeared in ads for Italian designer Versace. Winning accolades in decathlon and handling endorsements for big product names means the decathlete legend is not only a prominent figure in sports, but in the marketing industry as well. This makes him a worthy addition to your next corporate agenda or a powerful endorser for your product. Contact TSE now for help negotiating a Dan O’Brien endorsement on your company’s behalf.
