A small-town farm girl who at the age of three was given permission by her parents to pick her own name, Picabo Street has become synonymous with excellence and perseverance in the sport of downhill skiing. A two-time Olympic medal winner, Picabo Street took gold in the Super G at Nagano in 1998 and silver in the Downhill at Lillehammer in 1994. She retired from competitive skiing in 2002 with nine career victories under her belt. In 2005 she was inducted into the National Ski Hall of Fame. She has appeared on the TV shows Nickelodeon GUTS and Celebrity Paranormal Project, and she authored an autobiography entitled Nothing to Hide. Photogenic and charismatic, the superstar skier was best known for her blazing speed and fearless style. Her talent on the slopes generated an unmatched excitement for U.S skiing and her personality off the snow has resulted in a number of endorsements and public speaking engagements.
