One of the most recognizable faces in figure skating, Scott Hamilton is a role model to many because of his passion both on and off the ice. He is not only a figure skater but a cancer survivor and humanitarian. Since he has faced many hardships throughout his life, Scott knows that determination and hard work can bring you success.

In 1981, Scott became the second American since 1970 to capture gold at the World Championships; he was also named Male Athlete of the Year by the United States Olympic Committee. Scott was favored to take the gold at the 1984 Olympics after winning 16 consecutive titles since the 1980 Olympics and he did precisely that. Also in 1984, Scott decided that it was best for him to turn pro. He performed on his tour called Scott Hamilton’s America Tour and also in Stars on Ice.

Off the ice, Scott speaks to many groups and organizations about his life, how he overcame his battle with cancer and what it was like to be an Olympic gold medalist. Scott also involves himself with many charities including, Scott Hamilton C.A.R.E.S. initiative, Target House at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee and he serves on the board of directors for the Special Olympics.
