Title: Olympic Gold Medal Winner, Pole VaultStacy Dragila originally started her track and field career in the heptathalon (a combination of seven events), but she soon turned her focus to the pole vault and before long became a world champion. Dragila got her start at Idaho State University, where she excelled in a variety of events. She won her first gold medal at the 1996 USA Outdoor Championships and that put her on the road toward the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. She set several world records before going to Australia, and she came through for Team USA with a gold medal in the pole vault competition. Now retired from competitive vaulting, Dragila is back in Idaho as a coach for the Idaho State track and field team.
