Biography

Bill Plaschke began his writing career as the sport’s editor for his university’s paper, the Alestle. Before the first Bill Plaschke appearance in the Los Angeles Times in 1987, he worked in Fort Lauderdale and Seattle. As a sports columnist for the Times, he has made nationally recognized contributions in both journalism and public service.

Since he first began working with the Times, Plaschke has been named National Sports Columnist of the Year by the Associated Press, Sigma Delta Chi, National Headliners, and many other organizations.
