James Blake began playing tennis at the young age of seven, when he joined the Harlem Junior Tennis Program. Successful throughout his youth and high school career, Blake later went on to play for Harvard University. Here, he became the number one ranked collegiate tennis player in the NCAA and was named the NCAA Collegiate Tennis Player of the Year in 1998-99. In 2000 he joined the World Tennis Team, where he was named the Rookie of the Year. Since going professional, Blake has won 5 career titles and has been ranked as high as 31 in the world. He has also represented the United States in the Beijing Olympics, where he made it to the quarter finals.
