Jim Courier won back-to-back Orange Bowl titles in 1986 and 1987, as well as the French Open junior doubles title. In 1988, a Jim Courier appearance made it to professional scene, and he had a Grand Slam breakthrough in 1991 upon winning the French Open Singles title. He also reached the US Open finals that year.

The year 1992 was a highly decorated year for Courier. He recorded a 25 match winning streak and won both the Australian Open and French Open titles.
